If you added accidental damage cover as an optional extra, then you&rsquo;re covered for those single, one-off mishaps (such as putting your foot through the ceiling or knocking over a TV).

Don&rsquo;t forget, it&rsquo;s an option you can remove too. So if you genuinely don&rsquo;t need it, maybe think about removing this cover from your policy. And you can remove it from either your contents or buildings insurance &ndash; or both. But just bear in mind that your policy won&#39;t cover you for accidental damage without this optional extra.
