26th March 2014
Over 40 clubs, churches and companies are now participating in Let's Turn Sussex Purple — the inaugural event to raise funds for a children's cancer charity — the NCCA (Neuroblastoma Children's Cancer Alliance).
The Bengal Brasserie, Abbey Hotel, Happy Faces Childminding, Charters Ancaster Preparatory and Nursery School, Bodyshock Fitness, Paperlane, Spring Care PAS, Lest We Forget Tours and Veritek are the latest of the 41 organisations to join Bexhill based insurance broker Hastings Direct to stage a purple event to raise much needed funds.
Neuroblastoma is a very aggressive childhood cancer and two children each week in the UK are diagnosed with this life limiting cancer. The NCCA helps families access potentially lifesaving treatment whilst supporting research that not only aims to introduce new treatments but also bring existing internationally available options here to the UK.
Any Sussex resident or organisation can get involved — just wear purple on the day or donate via the Just Giving page or by sending a text PURP52 £1 (or £2, £3, £5, £10) to 70070.
