Staff go back to the eighties for charity

7th June 2011

Shoulder pads, big hair, Michael Jackson lookalikes and the cast of Thriller all roamed the offices of Bexhill broker Hastings Direct as staff went back to the eighties to raise money for St Mary's School and breast cancer.

Fancy dress, car washes and sales of 80s sweets raised a staggering £374 for St Marys and £300 for breast cancer.

Top prizes were awarded to the team from business facilities who dressed as the Smash Aliens and Graham Edwards for recreating the Back to the Future DeLorean car at his workstation.

Jay Wootten, chair of the charity committee: "I'm sure for the children from St Mary's who came to judge the fancy dress it almost seemed like a history lesson as most of them were born this century, but for many of us it was a real blast from the past to be able to drag out our old glad rags and relive our youth! All in a good cause of course."
