Brr … no more boiler trouble with a helping hand

28th March 2013

Just as the snow hit, disaster struck for the Bexhill Football Club as its boiler went on the fritz and the heating broke down. Now thanks to a £500 donation from Hastings Direct's A Helping Hand community programme, the football club which is home to 15 local teams of children and adults has been able to get the boiler fixed.

Hastings Direct's A Helping Hand makes financial, professional and physical support available to the local community. Each month Hastings is able to offer either professional support from its 1,500+ staff, or physical support with team building days. In addition, Hastings has made a small monthly grant available to support local funding.

The programme has also been able to help two local families who could not afford the annual £95 fee for their daughters to join in the fun at the Sidley Brownie pack by paying the fees on their behalf.

Jay Wootten, community liaison, Hastings Direct: "We get hundreds of request for help, but we try and look at supporting a range of needs as these two recent donations show. I would encourage any local organisation or worthy cause in need of a helping hand to get in touch to see if we can help".
