Insurance broker Hastings Direct gave 'A Helping Hand' of £200 to eight year old Charlie King from Newmarket, who will be completing a 21 mile walk at the end of May. The walk, in aid of Cancer Research, is in memory of Charlie's auntie who passed away earlier this year
Hastings Direct's A Helping Hand makes financial, professional and physical support available to local community groups and individuals.
Lani King, Charlie's mum said: "I'm overwhelmed by the support received from Hastings Direct. This donation was a huge boost to the total amount raised so far. The staff also took part in a dress down event which raised a further £120 and many have also contributed via our just giving page. I'm extremely proud of Charlie for what she's doing to try and help others so they won't have to go through what we've suffered. We're both very grateful to Hastings."
Jay Wootten, community liaison, Hastings Direct said: "When we heard of what Charlie wanted to do in memory of her auntie we were happy to support to provide a helping hand. To see the amount that has been raised is a really great achievement, and will be used to support a great cause."
