Staff from Bexhill's largest employer, Hastings Direct, has just raised £1,200 for Charity for Kids.

Each year Hastings Direct asks its staff for feedback on how the company is performing and how they feel about working for the company — for each response received, the company makes a donation to charity.

Charity for Kids helps disabled, sick and terminally ill children and their families. The charity has used this donation to help kit out a caravan used for respite holidays with all the creature comforts — everything from a kettle to a television, so that families feel it as a real home away from home during their stay.

Paul Harris, CEO, Charity for Kids: "Over the last three years Hastings Direct have been on hand to help support us in many ways including advice with marketing, supporting various events, internal fundraising and now with this donation which will be used to buy all the internal home comforts for our respite caravan which we hope will give the families a home from home feel.

"Charity for Kids would like to thank all at Hastings Direct for their continued support, we look forward to working together again in the very near future.

Jay Wootten, community liaison, Hastings Direct: "We are proud that we have been able to help create a place of solace and relaxation for families so in need of a decent break and some quality time together."
