Hastings Direct — the biggest employer in Bexhill — is the lead sponsor of this year's Bexhill Carnival — Bexhill at its Best — which is being held from July 22nd–July 27th.
The 2013 Bexhill Carnival will be the 64th and is predicted to be Bexhill's biggest event this year. Furthermore, the events being held on Friday July 26th and Saturday July 27th are now free to the general public. Anyone wishing to field a float in Saturday's grand procession can do so free of charge, as the cost of insuring the event has been covered by Hastings Direct.
The week long carnival centres around the Polegrove and features live music, a funfair, a charity dog show, charity car boot sale, fireworks and children's football; before culminating in the grand procession of floats on Saturday July 27th. The organisers are aiming to attract 50 floats to the event and hope to raise thousands of pounds for charity.
Gary Hoffman, Group CEO, Hastings: "We are very proud to be associated with Bexhill's biggest event of the year, which we hope will create a legacy of goodwill and much need funds for many local charities and good causes. Our staff will be supporting the event in a number of ways, in addition to the two floats they are currently decorating in preparation for the grand procession."
Nim Whitmarsh, chair, Carnival Committee: "We are delighted that Hastings Direct is our main sponsor and are thrilled that so many local businesses have already signed up as co-sponsors, but we would like to take this opportunity to encourage anyone interested in participating to get in touch as we receive no grants or funding."
