Local company and one of the UK's fastest growing insurance retailers, Hastings Direct has just reached one million customers.
The multi award winning company grew by 30% last year and is on track for strong growth in 2012 and has kicked off the year by selling its one millionth car policy on March 1st at 2.17pm to a 30 year old lorry driver from Swindon, Anthony Power.
For being the millionth customer, Anthony has won a £3,000 holiday package to New York. Married with two small girls, Anthony and his family have both never won a competition before or visited New York. "We simply can't believe it. We have watched Friends religiously for years and visiting New York has always been on our wish list and now we have the chance to actually visit Central Park. We have just moved house and had no plans for a holiday this year — this could not have happened at a better time." Anthony's prize includes £1,000 spending money: "The girls have already started their shopping lists!"
At its Bexhill head office, the landmark moment was celebrated with the release of fireworks and two American cheerleaders joined the company mascot Harry Hastings to award a prize to the call centre agent who sold the millionth policy — Garry Jones. Garry also won a holiday to New York worth £2,000.
2012 has already been a landmark year for Hastings Direct as it became one of the top five personal lines brokers in the UK and has been shortlisted for five industry awards as well as achieving First Class accreditation in the Best Companies annual listing.
