Bexhill-based broker Hastings Direct made its final donation of £4,100 to its charity of the year — the Sussex Association for Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus on Wednesday July 7th.
Staff voted to support SASBAH for a year, which then increased to 18 months and have provided £30,000 of support for the charity, including providing training and practical support to its staff and service users.
Rom Sanglaji, general manager, SASBAH: "It has been a fantastic year working with Hastings Direct. We have enjoyed the interaction with all the staff that has made all the events really special. The money raised has been spent on residential holidays, equipment for disabled people, Christmas and summer parties and to support the ongoing costs of our vital services."
Hastings Direct staff raised the much needed funds in a myriad of ways including hosting a summer fete, running marathons, quiz nights; dress down days, as well as washing staff's cars.
Edward Fitzmaurice, CEO, Hastings Direct: "We are delighted to have been able to help in anyway to support such a worthwhile local charity. SASBAH makes a real difference in the lives of many local families and we wish them every continued success with their work and fundraising."
