The BCS & Computing UK IT Industry Awards provide a platform for the entire profession to celebrate best practice, innovation and excellence. The categories were open to organisations and individuals involved in IT across the public, not for profit and commercial sectors.
David Clarke, MBE, Group Chief Executive Officer BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, said: "Hastings Insurance's IT department was recognised for contributing significantly to a turnaround of the business through strong team work and professionalism, enabling innovative systems and processes."
James Fairhurst, CIO, Hastings Direct: "I could not ask for a better team. As a company we have doubled in size in the last two years and the hard work, dedication and joy with which all our IT issues and challenges have been met and mastered by the team is testament to our success. Having external recognition and awards for everything the team has achieved twice this year is both the icing and the cherry on the cake!"
Stuart Sumner, Editor of Computing commented: "I would like to congratulate the winners and those who were highly commended on their achievements. The UK IT Industry Awards are rigorously judged and truly celebrate innovation and best practice in IT today."
