Hastings Direct moves to St George's Way

5th January 2016

Hastings Direct (Hastings), one of the UK's fastest growing insurance providers, yesterday moved into its new permanent Leicester site at 1 St George's Way. Leaving the temporary offices at Equinox on Burleys Way on Christmas Eve, over 300 employees started their new year being welcomed into their new home with branded goodie bags presented by Andrea Gray, Gary Hoffman, Hastings Group CEO and members of the senior leadership team.

Andrea Gray, Hastings' Operations Director comments; "I'm delighted with our new home. It gives our colleagues a great environment in a central location. We now have plenty of room to expand and we're recruiting for more colleagues to join our growing Hastings family."

Gary Hoffman, Group CEO added: "Today marks another great milestone in Hastings' journey as we add Leicester firmly to our map. We now have over 2,000 colleagues at our sites in Bexhill, Newmarket, Gibraltar and Leicester who provide refreshingly straightforward service and products to our 2 million customers every day. Leicester plays an important role in our growth and expansion plans and I am delighted with the calibre of people that have joined us from many different backgrounds."

Naming Leicester as its third UK customer service centre in May 2015, Hastings has since welcomed hundreds of employees to the Leicester office. Earlier in the year, Hastings ran a programme, in conjunction with Leicester College and the Job Centre, to help the long-term unemployed get back into work. Of those who attended, over half gained employment with Hastings Direct.

As well as joining the business community in Leicester, Hastings is also launching a new 3-year education programme in partnership with LoveLocalJobs.com and Humanutopia. Called 'Be The Change', the initiative will give Year 9 students from schools and colleges in the area the chance to assess their life skills and behaviours as they move towards the working world.
