Hastings Direct creates 85 new jobs

13th May 2013

Further to its January announcement of 200 new jobs being created in 2013, insurance broker Hastings Direct has just announced the creation of an additional 85 new roles.

The multi-award winning company is looking to recruit across the jobs spectrum from entry level to senior management. The expansion is being driven by continued business growth — the company recently announced an 18% increase in customers in 2012 — from its car, home, van and bike insurance products. The company has enjoyed rapid growth since its management buyout in 2009, with a customer taking out a policy with Hastings every 24 seconds last year and the future looks promising as the company is committed to protecting one in ten of the UK population by 2020.

The new jobs are full-time equivalents. For entry level roles, the company would be happy to consider part time mums, dads or students, wishing to earn extra income across the shifts, which include evenings and weekends. More mature candidates looking for part time roles would also be welcome applicants.

Gary Hoffman, CEO, Hastings Direct said: "We have ambitious plans to serve three million customers by 2020 and we are on track to achieve this. I am delighted to be able to announce another 85 new jobs in addition to the 200 we have already created this year."

Hastings Direct is holding a series of open days for anyone interested in learning more about company to pop along to and apply in person. The first of these will be on Wednesday May 22nd at the company's headquarters in Collington Avenue, Bexhill from 2pm–8pm.
