Hastings Direct Charity Appeal

Hastings Direct is appealing to all local charities to be its charity of the year.

Each June, Bexhill-based insurance broker Hastings Direct's staff votes to support a local charity for a year (July–June). The company's staff fundraises throughout the year and also donates its time and expertise in support of the charity.

To be eligible for nomination, a charity has to be:

  • a legally registered charity
  • local to the Bexhill/Hastings area
  • without national funding
  • in need of practical, professional and financial help

Jay Wootten, chair, charity committee: "As a company we are committed to our local community and seek to actively support it. When we adopt a charity of the year we look to do more than just fundraise, we also offer practical hands on support in a number of areas from labouring, to IT, training and HR support. We work closely with our charity partner to help it deliver key projects that require both financial and practical support, which simply would not be possible without the support of the community of our staff.
