Award winning insurance broker, Hastings Insurance Services, has just appointed Paul Whymark as its new operations director and Jonathan Sutcliffe as its new claims director. Both roles are new posts for the company — one of Europe's fastest growing insurance providers.
Paul Whymark joins Hastings from his former role as head of affinity operations at RSA. With over 20 years of insurance experience, Paul has held managerial posts at RBS, Churchill, Boots and Bupa. Paul will report directly to managing director of Hastings Retail, Toby van der Meer.
Van der Meer: "Paul brings a wealth of experience and a real passion for delivering great straightforward customer service through people. We're excited to have him on board as we continue our growth story and shake up the industry by offering consumers better deals."
Hastings passed the one million customer mark earlier this year and the company has ambitious plans to treble in size by 2020. The company was just named Customer Service Provider of the Year at the UK Broker Awards 2012.
Jonathan Sutcliffe joins Hastings from ACE's Paris office where he was claims director, Continental Europe. Jonathan has over two decades of claims' experience in commercial property, casualty, personal lines and motor with previous roles in Fusion Insurance Services/Novea Syndicates and Zurich. Jonathan will report directly to Michael Lee, managing director, insurer services.
Lee: "We are delighted Jonathan is joining the team, he is adept at building large claims operations which dovetails neatly with our future growth plans. I look forward to working with him as we take Hastings on its journey to become a leading household name provider of insurance services."
