A Helping Hand for Triple 21

20th May 2013

Hastings Direct's community programme — A Helping Hand — has donated £250 to Triple 21 — is a support group for families with children with Down's Syndrome.

Hastings Direct's A Helping Hand makes financial, professional and physical support available to the local community. Each month Hastings is able to offer either professional support from its 1,500+ staff, or physical support with team building days. In addition, Hastings has made a small monthly grant available to support local funding.

Over 60,000 people in the UK have Down's Syndrome — which affects one in every one thousand children born in the UK. Triple 21 is currently working to raise £1,500 so that local families can enjoy a Haven on holiday together. If any other local businesses are interested in supporting Triple 21 please contact its organiser, Zara Page at zarajane@talktalk.net.

Jay Wootten, community liaison, Hastings Direct: "By being able to holiday together families with a Down's Syndrome member will be able to share their experiences and it is hoped support each other, whilst lessening the feelings of isolation. We are proud to support Triple 21 and hope other local businesses will support them to reach their fundraising goal."

If you know of a local organisation in need of A Helping Hand, please email jaywootten@hastingsdirect.com with details of your organisation and how we may be able to assist.
