Hastings Direct's Community Programme Supports The People Greenhouse

Hastings Direct's community programme — A Helping Hand — is supporting The People Greenhouse by providing a new log burning stove to help warm up the reception for local people attending its community hub in Broad Oak Park.

Hastings Direct's A Helping Hand makes financial, professional and physical support available to the local community. Each month Hastings is able to offer either professional support from its 1,400 +staff, or physical support with team building days. In addition, Hastings has made a small monthly grant available to support local funding.

The People Greenhouse is a project which aims to get back to the grassroots of the local community by serving and encouraging an infrastructure of togetherness, identity and purpose by enjoying a sense of home from home, family love and common unity. The People Greenhouse has primarily focused upon the needs expressed by local people who have dropped into the Hub in Broad Oak Park.

Talitha Ishi-Smith, People Greenhouse "We really appreciate the donation of £200 towards the installation of log burning stove provided by Hastings Direct. This will warm the hearts of the local community".

Jay Wootten, chair, A Helping Hand: "The People Greenhouse works in the local community providing a place in Broad Oak Park which has quickly become a community hub. We are delighted we have been able to support this community project, helping to help turn around a once unused building into something that local people can use and enjoy."
