Important - Coronavirus update

In line with advice from the Government and the FCA, we now have a limited number of staff in the office and are working hard to enable more employees to work from home. During this time, we're committed to supporting you in the best way we can. We'll be here throughout to keep you updated, so make sure to check back regularly.

  • To help us prioritise urgent calls, please use our online services to manage your policy where you can. Please only call us in exceptional circumstances, as otherwise we may not be able to help you at this time.
  • If you have a car policy, you can change your address or vehicle, add or remove drivers, or make payments in MyAccount or the app.
  • You can also report a new car claim or get an update on your car's repair in MyAccount.
  • If you're worried about financial difficulties or you're using your insured vehicle or home differently because of Coronavirus and you want to update your policy, please read our Coronavirus FAQs about what to do next.
  • Our opening hours have changed to: Monday to Friday 9am - 6pm, Saturday 10am - 2pm and Sunday Closed.
  • If you do need to call us, please bear with us as it may take us longer to answer your call. We're sorry for any inconvenience this causes you.

Community guidelines for social media

You should be able to visit our page, enjoy the conversations and talk with us whenever you need to.

However, there are some rules to make sure all our visitors have a straightforward experience:

  1. Our services are available 24/7 but some of your questions can only be answered during call centre hours. If we can't answer your questions straight away we'll get back to you as quickly as we can.
  2. You can use this platform to express your feelings and review your experience with us. You can be honest but we won't accept offensive, violent, inappropriate or defamatory comments or posts, spam (including unreasonable repetition), comment or posts that reflect, condone, encourage any irresponsible or illegal or fraudulent behaviour, or that contain vulgar language. Posting a comment that may violate the rights of others (whether Facebook users or not) or any such comments, posts or interactions, if spotted, or brought to our attention will be removed. Also anything that is or appears, in our opinion, against Facebook's terms of use, will be removed.
  3. For your own personal data security, do not post any of your personal information like your policy number, home address or phone number on our wall. If you need to tell us this information, send it in a private message. Never leave financial information like credit card details on social media (wall or private message). WE WILL NEVER ASK YOU TO DISCLOSE ANY OF THESE DETAILS IN A PUBLIC FORUM.
  4. Do not post any adverts promoting yourself, your company or services or any product that's not relevant to Hastings Direct. We have the right to remove any advertisement or similar at our sole discretion.

If you break any of the rules listed above we have the right to remove your comments, block your profile or escalate further.
